Access Storage

A self-storage facility with 45 stores across the UK. Employees are offered NVQs and Apprenticeships in Customer Service, Team Leading and Management.

The objectives we wanted to achieve through training were improved retention of staff, definition of skill requirements for promotions and an improvement in the quality of customer service being delivered. We chose vocational training as we required our staff to stay on site to learn, plus it provided a way for the business to demonstrate commitment to the staff by allowing time whilst working.

The main business benefit of working with JHP Training was improved staff retention - especially with those who take more than one qualification. The business is seen to develop its people and standards have been raised along with company expectations of the individuals. Staff are more committed to the tasks involved, have a better understanding of what 'customer service' is through developing their portfolios, complaints are handled more efficiently and the staff have an overall more professional approach.
