It is a flexible qualification which allows you to work at your own pace through seven modules, including Basic concepts of IT, Using the computer and managing files, Word processing, Spreadsheets, Database, Presentation and Information, and Communication.
- PC Passport - Providing an ideal introduction to computers, this course is accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority, and is set at three different levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
- JHP Training also offers a range of short IT courses, focusing on specific skills you might need.
How are the courses funded?
Provision of all the above courses is made possible through ILA Scotland funding (ILA stands for Individual Learning Account), a scheme which is designed to help you develop your skills. If you earn £15,000 a year or less, or are on benefits, you could be eligible for up to £200 towards the cost of learning something new. For each course you do, you only need to contribute a minimum of £10 of your own money towards the costs.
JHP Training is one of many training providers offering a wide range of ILA Scotland approved learning. If you're interested in using some of your allocated money to improve your IT skills with us, register your interest here.
